Fog of war

Parts of the mountain are covered in fog. Who knows what’s hidden behind it? Find out!
Goat breeding

You can now breed livestock (only goats at the moment). A lot of feeding is needed for breeding.
Changes in game design

The small dwelling requires less space.
The accumulated honor of your Vikings is displayed directly in the main menu.
There are more Vikings available in hard mode to storm the mountain.
The kitchen can now store mushrooms.
The Farmer always needs a sickle now.
The random–mountain- generator has been reworked. Now your Vikings should always be able to achieve their goal.
UI & Controls

The player is informed about update news in-game.
You can now click on a building in path building mode and begin or end a path at the entrance.
Deleted messages are not displayed again.
The UI can be scaled to 150%.
Scroll bars in the options menu are displaying the current value.
The camera movement takes rotation movement into account.
Camera movement now takes camera angle into account.
Placing paths is no longer restrained when selecting Vikings.
The (hidden and incomplete) controller-support is deactivated. You can now connect your controller with external programs without problems.
Renaming Vikings in the Vikings overview can be cancelled by pressing ESC. When starting a new game, it remembers if the last one was free or normal and set your choice as default.
Other changes

Updated Unreal Engine to version 4.10.
Felled trees leave stumps.
The buildings have a Christmassy touch and are decorated!

    HIT REGISTRATION IMPROVEMENTS
    Updated the server tick rate for console users
    With the goal of improving positioning and shooting replication, we had deployed a first update on PC in which the player position update rate is set to 60 times per second (vs. the previous 30). After testing, we are satisfied with its state so we are now deploying this update to all consoles as well.
     
    ANTI-CHEATING IMPROVEMENTS
    Cheating countermeasures have been improved further.
    Banning policy update: all cheaters detected by the system will be banned permanently. No more three day ban for first offense.
     
    EXPLOIT FIX: DEFENDERS EXITING THE PREPARATION PHASE
    Added a configuration that allows us to turn ON an insta-kill configuration for Defenders that go outside their zone during the preparation phase (this behavior should not be possible, but if exploits are found, the guilty shall be punished by a swift death!)
    We will be able to activate this functionality at any time. We will first be testing it on XB1 during the afternoon of January 13th (Montreal time). If it proves effective, we will be deploying this on all platforms later that day.
     
    TOP COMMUNITY-RAISED BUG FIXES
    (Live for PC on Jan. 13th, live for consoles on Jan. 20th)
    Please be aware that this is not an exhaustive list and that we are only highlighting fixes that were done about the most commonly raised community bugs.
     
    LEVEL DESIGN FIXES
    Fixed a bug that allowed players to exit their zone during the preparation phase (red wall). When transitioning from proning to standing position combined with putting up a barricade, players were able to go through walls. We believe this exploit is now solved. Please share your experience in this forum thread[forums.ubi.com] if you still encounter it after the patch (information we are looking for listed in opening post).
     
    ONLINE FIXES
    Partial fix of Error [2-0x00000041]. Refer to the High Priority Issues in the Known Issues post[forums.ubi.com] for more information.
    Potential full fix of the loading screen freeze (smoke background). Refer to the High Priority Issues in the Known Issues post for full information.
    Potential full fix of the failed data synchronization issue. Refer to the High Priority Issues in the Known Issues post for full information.
    Session authentication operation requests are now using the per data center proxy instead of the Dev one.
    Improved error tracking, for easier issue identification from our side.
     
    Ranked match reconnection fixes for PC:
    If game was closed by pressing [x] or ALT+F4, the players will not be leaving all sessions anymore.
    Players leaving a Ranked match by pressing F10 will now be receiving reconnect & abandon messages.
    Players leaving a Ranked match by quitting with ALT+F4 will now be receiving reconnect & abandon messages.
    Various smaller connectivity and crash fixes.

Bugs fixed

- A few achievements were either too hard to achieve or were not attainable after last update.

Alright, this is the last small update of today.

The floating doors when transitioning from office to reserve1 have been fixed.

Fixed achievement Bad Case of the Mondays being impossible to obtain
Fixed "skip the meeting" -hint apperaring after exiting the meeting room (issue #281)

Update v1.03:

Hello folks!

We're terribly sorry for the last update which broke the second level completely by removing player's flashlight and camera amongst other things. This is now fixed, but the floating door problem still remains as the level update process takes a lot of time. A new update fixing this will follow in a few hours.

Fixed a voice actor missing from the credits
Fixed some visible seams in the character models
Fixed the "continue" button in the main menu after starting a game and then returning to the menu

reserve1:

Fixed player zoom
Fixed player spawning without his flashlight and camera


Update v1.02:

We have fixed the level transition problems which prevented some people from progressing at all since the first level.

Now you can play the Part 1 from the beginning to the end without unpleasant and unwanted blocks in progress.

Downside of this update is that savegames may have been broken from the affected level forcing players to restart the level or even the whole chapter.

We will now start working on the other bugs and issues, including some kind of a tutorial and guidance mechanics for the first level, options etc.
